7 Days Serengeti & Beyond Safari

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, welcomed by a professional safari guide and transferred to Mtoni River Lodge in Arusha. The rest of the day is free to relax. Overnight in Arusha. Driving time approximately 1 hour from the airport.

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River and known for its landscapes, ancient baobab trees and one of the largest elephant populations in East Africa. Wildlife may include elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, gazelles and baboons, and the park has more than 550 recorded bird species. Picnic lunch in the park, then an afternoon game drive before transferring to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Marera Valley Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Driving time approximately 2.5 hours from Tarangire National Park to the lodge.

A further day exploring the diverse habitats of Tarangire National Park, with opportunities to discover different areas and observe wildlife. After the afternoon game drive, continue to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Driving time approximately 1.5 hours from Tarangire National Park to Marera Valley Lodge.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, known for its wildlife, forests and lake views. Game drive in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, flamingos and the park's tree-climbing lions, with a picnic lunch inside the park. Afterwards drive back to Karatu and to Bougainvillea Lodge for dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Driving time approximately 1 hour.

After breakfast, depart for the Serengeti National Park, travelling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a stop at a viewpoint overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater. The Serengeti covers approximately 15,000 km² and is home to the Great Migration, with nearly two million wildebeests, zebras and gazelles moving across the ecosystem. Afternoon game drive with a picnic lunch, then continue to camp for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Mbuni Tented Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Driving time approximately 4.5 hours.

A full-day game drive exploring the plains of the Serengeti and searching for the Big Five. An optional sunrise hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an additional cost, followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Mbuni Tented Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. Wildlife includes lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles and the endangered black rhinoceros. Picnic lunch on the crater floor, then ascend the crater and drive to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Marera Valley Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Driving time approximately 3.5–4 hours from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater, and approximately 40 minutes from the Ngorongoro Crater Gate to Marera Valley Lodge.

After breakfast, a leisurely morning before transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for the onward flight home. Meals: Breakfast & Lunch. Driving time approximately 4 hours to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
