Saadani National Park

Saadani National Park, situated in the eastern part of Tanzania, holds the unique distinction of being the only national park in East Africa with a coastal and marine component. Established in 2005, Saadani encompasses a diverse range of ecosystems, from pristine beaches along the Indian Ocean to the Wami River estuary and inland savannahs. Saadani National Park is strategically located on the Tanzanian coast, approximately 45 kilometers north of the historic town of Bagamoyo and 75 kilometers northwest of Dar es Salaam. The park's landscapes are incredibly diverse, including sandy beaches, mangrove forests, acacia woodlands, and grassy plains. The Wami River, which flows through the park, adds a unique element to its ecosystem. Saadani is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, leopards, and various antelope species.
